Genesis Lodge provides supportive housing for adult men who are physically independent but require assistance with daily living, mental health support, and structure.

Support & Health Services

Residents at Genesis Lodge live in a supportive, structured environment with access to health related supports and coordination with community providers.

Who We Support

Genesis Lodge is designed for fully physically functioning adult men, age 26 and older, who are living with mental health challenges and benefit from structure and support in a home setting.

Daily Living

Our goal is to reduce the stress of daily tasks while encouraging independence where possible. Residents receive support with:

  • Housekeeping and general home upkeep
  • Laundry assistance
  • Nutritious, well-balanced meals served at regular times
  • Snacks and beverages available between meals

Accommodation

Genesis Lodge offers semi-private and private rooms, depending on availability. All rooms are furnished and maintained as part of the home.

  • Semi-private rooms as standard accommodation
  • Private rooms may be available at times
  • Furnished rooms with bed, dresser, and basic furnishings
  • Shared common areas including living room, dining area, and outdoor space

Environment

We aim to maintain a calm, respectful, and predictable environment where residents feel safe and at home. House rules and expectations are reviewed at admission.

Activities & community involvement

Activity planning is based on the needs and abilities of residents, and may include both on-site and community-based options.

  • Support attending day programs, groups, or appointments
  • Encouragement of involvement in community programs and resources

Community outings like bowling help residents stay active and connected.

Admissions

Referrals to Genesis Lodge can come from hospitals, clinics, community mental health agencies, case managers, or directly from individuals and families.

  • Initial phone conversation to discuss fit and availability
  • Sharing of relevant clinical and social information
  • Visit to the home where possible
  • Review of expectations, house guidelines, and supports

Rates & Funding

The cost of residency is typically covered through income sources such as:

  • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
  • Ontario Works (OW)
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or other income sources

We discuss rate details and payment arrangements during the admissions process and work with residents and families to explore options based on individual circumstances.
